Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions we get asked most often about CCTV installation, security cameras, and maintenance.

How much does CCTV installation cost?

It depends on how many cameras you need, the type of cameras (IP or analog), and the complexity of your property. A basic 4-camera setup for a home typically starts around ₹15,000–₹25,000 including cameras, NVR, cabling, and installation. Larger setups for offices, warehouses, or apartment complexes vary based on the number of cameras and features like AI detection or ANPR. We offer a free site survey — so rather than guessing, we’ll visit your property, assess what you actually need, and give you a clear quote with no hidden charges.

How long does a typical CCTV installation take?

For a standard home with 4–8 cameras, the installation usually takes about half a day. Larger commercial setups — say 16 to 32 cameras with structured cabling — can take 2–3 days depending on the building layout and how much cabling work is involved. We always try to keep disruption to a minimum, and we clean up after ourselves. No dangling wires or drilled holes left open.

Can I view my CCTV cameras on my phone?

Yes, absolutely. Every system we install comes with remote viewing configured on your phone. You can watch live footage, get motion alerts, and play back recorded video from anywhere — whether you’re at work, travelling, or just in another room. We set this up during installation itself, so you walk away with everything working on your phone from day one.

What’s the difference between IP cameras and analog cameras?

IP cameras connect over your network (usually through a single ethernet cable that also carries power), and they offer much higher resolution — typically 2MP to 8MP. Analog cameras use coaxial cables and tend to max out at 2MP. For most new installations, we recommend IP cameras because the image quality is significantly better, and they support smart features like human detection and face recognition. If you want to dig deeper into this, we’ve written a detailed comparison in our blog.

What is NVR and do I need one?

NVR stands for Network Video Recorder. Think of it as the brain of your camera system — it’s the box that records and stores all your footage. Yes, you need one (or a DVR, if you’re using analog cameras). We handle the NVR setup as part of every installation, including hard drive configuration, recording schedules, and backup settings. Most homes do fine with a 4 or 8-channel NVR with a 2TB hard drive, which stores about 15–30 days of footage depending on camera count and resolution.

How many cameras do I need for my home?

It varies by property, but here’s a rough guide: a typical 2BHK apartment usually needs 2–3 cameras (entrance, balcony, parking view). A 3BHK or independent house might need 4–6 cameras to cover the main gate, backyard, driveway, and key entry points. Villas and larger properties can need 8 or more. The best way to figure it out is a site survey — we’ll walk your property with you and recommend camera positions based on actual blind spots and coverage needs.

Do you provide maintenance after installation?

Yes, we offer Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for all security systems. An AMC covers regular checkups, cleaning, firmware updates, cable inspections, and priority support if something goes wrong. Most CCTV problems — like blurry footage, cameras going offline, or storage filling up — are preventable with regular maintenance. We’ve seen systems last 5–7 years with proper care, versus 2–3 years without it.

What happens if a camera stops working?

If you’re on an AMC plan, just call or WhatsApp us and we’ll send a technician — usually within 24 hours. For non-AMC customers, we charge a service visit fee. Either way, we diagnose the issue on-site. Most problems turn out to be loose cables, power issues, or firmware glitches that are quick to fix. If a camera genuinely fails, we help with replacement at the best possible price.

Can you install cameras in an already-built property without breaking walls?

Yes. We work with existing buildings all the time. We use surface-mounted conduits, cable trays, and sometimes flexible conduit piping to route cables neatly along walls and ceilings. It’s not as clean as pre-wired installations, but we take extra care to keep things tidy. In some cases, we also use wireless cameras for spots where cabling is genuinely impractical — though we prefer wired setups for reliability.

What brands do you work with?

We work with all the major brands — Hikvision, Dahua, CP Plus, and Honeywell, among others. We don’t push any single brand. Instead, we recommend what makes sense for your budget and requirements. For example, Hikvision tends to be a strong choice for AI-powered features, while CP Plus offers excellent value for straightforward setups. We’re brand-agnostic because our job is to give you the best system, not to sell a specific product.

What is ANPR and how can it help with parking management?

ANPR stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition. It’s a camera system that reads vehicle number plates automatically and can be used to control boom barriers, log entry/exit times, and manage parking access — all without manual intervention. It’s particularly useful for apartment complexes, corporate offices, and commercial buildings where you need to track vehicle movement. We handle the full setup: cameras, boom barriers, software configuration, and resident database management.

Do your cameras work at night?

Yes. Every camera we install comes with infrared (IR) night vision as standard. Most modern cameras can see clearly up to 30–50 metres in complete darkness. For areas that need colour footage at night, we also offer cameras with built-in warm-light LEDs or starlight sensors that capture colour images in very low light. We’ll recommend the right type based on where the camera is going.

How much storage do I need for my CCTV system?

It depends on how many cameras you have and what resolution they record at. As a rough guide: a 4-camera system recording at 2MP typically needs about 1–2TB to store 15–30 days of footage. An 8-camera system at 4MP might need 4TB for the same period. We configure your NVR with motion-based recording by default, which means cameras only record when something moves — this saves a huge amount of storage without missing anything important.

Can I keep my existing cameras and just upgrade the recorder?

In many cases, yes. If your existing cameras are still in decent condition, we can replace just the NVR or DVR. However, if your cameras are analog and more than 4–5 years old, the image quality may be quite poor by today’s standards. We’ll assess your existing setup and give you an honest recommendation — sometimes upgrading just the recorder makes sense, sometimes a full upgrade is more cost-effective in the long run.

Do you serve areas outside Hyderabad?

Yes. While we’re based in the region, we serve clients across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. We’ve done installations in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati, Warangal, and several other cities. For locations outside our immediate area, we coordinate logistics in advance to make sure the installation goes smoothly — usually completing everything in a single visit.

Is there a warranty on your installation work?

Yes. All our installations come with a 12-month workmanship warranty. That means if anything goes wrong with the cabling, mounting, or configuration within the first year, we’ll fix it at no extra cost. Camera hardware warranties depend on the manufacturer — most brands offer 1–2 years. We handle warranty claims on your behalf so you don’t have to deal with the manufacturer directly.
